Provide input to President Obama’s America’s Great Outdoors Initiative, a 21st Century agenda for conservation, recreation and connecting with the outdoors.

MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD AT A FORUM ON PARKS, OPEN SPACE AND NATURE.Young people are especially encouraged to attend.
MONDAY AUGUST 30th at 5:30 pm
The Field Museum, 1400 S. Lake Shore Drive, Chicago
Simpson Theater (entry through West door)

Please come and share your ideas with Amy Salzman, Associate Director for Policy Outreach, White House Council on Environmental Quality; Will Shafroth, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Fish, Wildlife and Parks, U.S. Department of the Interior, and Harris Sherman, Undersecretary for Natural Resources and Environment, U.S. Department of Agriculture, on the four questions guiding the America’s Great Outdoors initiative:

1. Challenges: What obstacles exist to conservation, recreation, or reconnecting people to the outdoors?
2. What works: What are the most effective strategies for conservation, recreation and reconnecting people to the outdoors?
3. Federal government role: How can the federal government be a more effective partner in helping to
achieve conservation, recreation or reconnecting people to the outdoors?
4. Tools: What additional tools and resources would help make these efforts even more successful?

You will have the opportunity to submit brief verbal or written comments and suggestions on any of the our questions during this session. If you can’t attend, you can also submit your ideas to the America’s Great Outdoors Idea Jam at: http://www.doi.gov/am...

Registration begins at 4:30. Please arrive at the West door promptly.There is no cost for this event.
