John - I'd love a foraging outing. Sorry for a late response. We briefly talked about it but no one of us felt qualified enough to organize it. However, let's keep it on our radar and do it one day! If you have any suggestions please keep Kimberly (our "proposed events" keeper) or me posted.
Anish - I love your idea too and it's too bad that there is not enough time to organize a meetup for it. Feel free to post a separate message thread on the message board encouraging people to join you and hopefully you will have a nice company of people to screen the films together. You can also try to post it on CIDF (http://www.meetup.com... |

Thanks, Shyaam. Please let me know if there is a screening in Chicago area or if you would like to organize it.

I'm new to meetup so please let me know if there was a 'like' or voting link I missed. I like the moviescreening idea for revenge of the elctric car and would go to that. I think the mushroom idea sounds cool, just not my bag.

Sabi, there are no voting buttons on the message board. Your comments and preferences however, are welcome, we like discussions.

I have noticed that since I joined this group, most of the meetups available have been in the suburbs. I would love to see more meetups that are in the city.

Marcus/Cathy and Ellen -
I am glad shared with everyone the info about your events. I am not sure if we can consider it as a meetup suggestion since the events are just a few days ahead and we usually plan our meetups at least 2-3 weeks in advance. The announcements like yours are very welcome but it might be more appropriate to post them under it's own topic instead of IDEAS FOR OUR NEW MEETUPS. But thank you for sharing this info anyway. Jacki - Thank you very much for your suggestion to focus on the city events as much as suburban meetups. We will definitely try to do it. On the meantime if you have any specific suggestions for our upcoming meetups please consider sharing them (either by posting it here or email them to me directly). And definitely let me know if you might be interested to help organizing any events, . Thank you again. - Vadim |
