What a great opportunity to learn about Neighborspace and see just a small sampling of the incredible gardening efforts going on in the city. Very inspiring!

Very inspirational event. My Mother feels like she wants to do something similar in Mumbai, India.

Wonderful event! Inspirational. Informational. Seeing "hidden" garden gems I never knew about... talking with and learning from community gardeners and NeighborSpace gave me a strong sense of hope and excitement about a vacant lot near my home in Bronzeville. THANKS Vadim, Siri, Margaret, Cara and everyone who made this possible.

Great examples of urban gardens in Chicago and how they can positively impact a community for the better on many different levels. Thanks to everyone who shared this wonderful experience with us.

Hannah and Siri, thank you for organizing this meeting! It was a great film... we should all tell our friends to see it!

Great documentary. Global warming and resource depletion viewed from different angles. Aerial view approach was probably the best way to show us what we don't see and what we don't know. Question session was also great. Now we need to lobby our "dear" politician to start taking real action on the matter. Good job CGE

Thank you for picking this movie to view. After the introduction, where all things were not only beautiful, but the earth's creation was explained, I started to get a sense of hopelessness. I was really happy, to learn, at the end of the film, that some countries are doing things right. That some places in the world are being safeguarded, and that the idea of sustainability is growing. Incidentally, there was a LEED contractor in the audience, who I lost sight of, during my chats with others. I have so many questions to ask him, and I can't help but wonder if he might be willing to conduct a post event lecture, for a future event, on things people can do around their homes....especially if a remodel is being planned. If not, maybe he can just contact me, since I'd like to make some plans.

This screening of "Home" was my first CGE event, and it was wonderful! I was really moved by the generosity of the organizers/volunteers and the passionate intelligence of those who attended. Loving Hut's food was delicious and the after-film conversations were stimulating. I'd never expect a documentary to address the myriad of eco-challenges we face... just to provoke our thoughts and actions in response to them. Mission Accomplished.

The group was big (about 45), and the food was yummy. The doc was disappointing. lovely footage but not as well-balanced with answers as the Carbon Nation movie. Inspiring eco movies tend to offer more carrot than stick. Was put off by the 'introduce yourself' session. I hope they don't do that for every event.

I thought it was informative and not far fetched. Also I enjoyed talking about it with some of the group members about it afterword. The city should have promoted the event more though.

Good flick, very well put together and a decent blend of education and entertainment. I saw about a 1/2 dozen technologies that should be universally implemented immediately (but probably won't anytime soon).

The meetup was great, I was only able to find and talk to a few members, perhaps I missed the others in the other entrances. It was however, nice to hang out with the few and have some lively chat. Samosas and coconut water added to the taste.

For others who had attended the "Green Fest" at Navy Pier, this had roughly about a third of the vendors with an overall holistic based-theme. I've seen the 'milk film' before but regardless it still irks me to the core. The 'tree film' was a new one for me and thus another reason for concern. However, the program did state a specific 'Monsanto film' which they did not show but rather an excerpt from the "Future of Food" which is good film but I have seen it before. The program started a tad late and ran a bit longer than expected but it was nice to see a personal introduction and some commentary by Jeffrey M. Smith. The GMO Shopping Guide booklet and an additional free GMO DVD were nice freebies.

Good films and very informative! Being vegan, I don't worry about the Milk one too much but I hope it helps others change their diets. The hormones should be outlawed altogether. The Silent Forest was my favorite. I had already seen the The Future of Food but it was nice to see parts of it again. Always knew GMOs were bad for us and the environment but never thought too much about the connection to diseases like cancer etc. so that is something worth researching. It was nice to meet a few of the people from the group and to get a free DVD on GMOS! Looking forward to watching it. :)

Movies where informative, although not at all balanced with arguments from the corporate side of the issues. However, what could they say to defend themselves? These practices are so very harmful in the long run. Yeah, maybe there's profit in the short term, like in the time span of one generation's career i.e. 30 years or so. So I can understand why people are doing this. But wow the potential for disaster, even economic disaster is enormous! The whole thing left me even more disappointed in humanity. Also, the sound equipment was not set up correctly, and that made it hard to hear well.

A good mix of different organizations represented along with plenty of healthy food samples.
